Why Integration Links and Collection Links Never Change Identifier

Every integration link and every collection link generated in Menutech carries a unique identifier embedded in its URL and QR code. Editing any property of either type of link does not regenerate this identifier. Only deleting and recreating a link produces a new one.

ℹ️ This applies to all users with the Integrations management module active.

The identifier stays the same when any of the following is changed:

  • The site or admin the link is assigned to
  • The refresh interval
  • The template used for display
  • The automation rule linked to it
  • The name given to the link

A collection link groups several integration links together under a single identifier. The identifier stays the same even when the set of integration links it collects is changed, whether links are added, removed, or swapped for others.

Why this matters

A printed QR code on a table, or a link embedded on a client's website, points to the identifier, not to any of the settings behind it. This means a QR code or embedded link never needs to be reprinted or replaced when adjustments are made behind the scenes, including changing which integration links a collection link pulls from.

This is especially useful during the integration phase, when sites, templates, rules, and groupings are still being fine-tuned. Codes can be placed and links can be published early, while configuration continues to evolve underneath them.
