Customizing Recipes for Special Diets Made Easy

When small dietary tweaks are needed—less salt, no butter, plant-based alternatives—you can make quick adjustments directly in the Diet Management screen of a recipe.

🛠️ How to Apply Dietary Modifications

  1. Open a recipe
  2. Go to the “Diet” tab
  3. Add specific dietary modifications for the recipe (e.g. "use oat milk instead of cow milk")

This lets you document how the dish can be adapted for specific dietary needs without creating a completely new recipe.

📄 What Changes (and What Doesn’t)

  • On the exported recipe sheet, a new section (“Dietary Modifications”) is added—so kitchen teams can see the adaptations clearly
  • On the recipe screen, these changes are for informational purposes only

→ They do not impact ingredients, nutrition, or allergens

→ They do not influence what appears in the order-taking interface

🧾 When to Use the Product Management Screen Instead

If the recipe needs:

  • An ingredient substitution
  • An adjusted allergen declaration
  • A special note for order-taking (e.g. “without butter” for a lactose-free version)

→ You’ll need to define a Dietary Breakdown in the Product Management screen instead.

This ensures the recipe behaves correctly across modules like Order-Taking.
