Update Smarter: Batch-Edit Recipes and Ingredients in One Go

Managing recipes' allergens one by one? No need. With Menutech’s batch update features, you can make large-scale edits to allergen data quickly and safely.

Here’s how to take full control:

🔄 Bulk Edit Ingredients via Excel Import

If you want to update an ingredient across multiple recipes:

  1. Download the Excel import template from the Recipe Management screen
  2. Make your changes to the relevant ingredient rows
  3. Re-import the file

💡 If the ingredient name matches, the system will automatically update it in all recipes where it appears—no need to touch each recipe individually.

🧠 Keep Allergen & Nutritional Info Synchronized

To ensure consistency and compliance:

  • Use the Ingredient Management screen to manage allergens and nutritional values centrally
  • Any changes made here will cascade across all recipes using the ingredient
  • If allergen info is missing or outdated in the source ingredient, it will be overwritten when re-imported—so keep your base ingredient data clean

🔍 Quick Check Tools:

  • Allergen Report: Scan all declared allergens in one overview
  • Nutritional Value Report: Validate completeness of nutrition data
  • “Declarations” column in Ingredient Management: Instantly shows allergen icons per line—great for spotting missing declarations at a glance

🔗 How Changes Affect Linked Recipes and Menus

  • When you update a recipe’s allergen data, the change is pushed to all linked menu items
  • If someone tries to manually change the allergens on a menu line after a recipe was added, the system will show a warning

→ This prompts them to double-check if anything is missing in the source recipe’s ingredient declarations

This ensures your menus remain consistent and allergen-safe, even when team members make late edits.
