How to customise your icons and legends

This is a short guide to customising the style of the icons and legends on your menu. Follow these simple steps to change the appearance of the icons for food allergens (e.g., gluten, lactose, eggs, etc.) 🥜 and special diets (vegetarian, vegan, spicy dishes, etc.) 🌶️

🥜 Write your menu and declare the allergens for your dishes

Choose one of our pre-made templates and start writing your menu. The Menutech software will automatically suggest allergens to you based on similar dishes from our database.

Here's how to do it:

Click on +DISH to add dishes to your menu

Click on the list icon next to each dish, drink, or wine

In the right-hand sidebar, scroll down until you find the option Allergens

Click on See # similar products to view and copy allergens from similar dishes in our database

Or enter them manually by clicking on " + " 

🎨🦐 Customise your icons

Here is how to customise the appearance of your icons for food allergens and special diets (vegetarian, vegan, spicy, etc.):

Go to the Style screen

Click on Legend and declarations in the right-hand sidebar

And then on Declarations

Click on the drop-down menu and select your favourite style

Allergen icons can be customised in the following formats: 

Icons (standard)

Icons (round)

Subscript

Superscript

Colours

For special labels, on the other hand, it is possible to select either the standard format or the round format.

Here's how to change the appearance of the legend on your menu:

Go to the Style screen

Click on Legend & declarations in the right-hand sidebar

And then on Legend settings

Click on the drop-down menu and select your favourite style

The legend can be displayed in the following formats: 

List

Columns

Inline

Inline with titles

On each page

The legend is shown on each page in the following format:

You can also display the legend on a new page - instead of on the last page - and show all 14 food allergens on the menu.
